Chapter 402 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will be having free airplane rides for youth 8 - 17 Saturday morning, June 11th, at the Newark-Heath Airport from 9 am to 12:00 pm. Information and online registration can be found at https://YoungEaglesDay.org. Select the Newark-Heath event. The on-line registration is easy and straight forward. Walk-Ins will be accommodated as aircraft loading allows. The parent or legal guardian filling out the registration must accompany the youth to the airport and sign a waiver allowing the youth to fly with us.
Participants will receive a certificate and a logbook in which to log their flight and will be eligible for a free online ground school course supplied by Sporty's Pilot Shop. The Young Eagles program, nationwide, has flown over 2.2 million kids in the past 30 years. Chapter 402 pilots have flown more than 3,000 kids. Many of the participants have gone on to become private, professional or military pilots or have gone into other aviation careers. Hot dogs, snacks and refreshments will be provided after the flight.
