Registration is open for the inaugural Blue Line Twilight 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run, which will be held on Saturday, May 4, 7 p.m., at the Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) Newark campus. The event, a collaboration between COTC and the Licking County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), will honor law enforcement personnel as they prepare for National Police Week, May 11-17

Online registration is available for both individual and groups through Wednesday, May 1. In-person registration will be available on Friday, May 3, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, 5-6:30 p.m. at the John L. and Christine Warner Library and Student Center lobby, 1219 University Drive, COTC Newark campus.
Each participant will receive an event t-shirt and medals will be awarded to all registrants completing the course. Free gift bags will be available for the first 300 registrants. Walkers welcome.
Proceeds from the Blue Line Twilight Run will benefit COTC’s Officer Thomas W. Cottrell, Jr. Award for Character and Dedication to Public Service and the LCSO’s Stuff the Backpack fund.
A free After-Run Fun Down will feature bounce houses for kids, food trucks, live music, first responder vehicles on display and a distracted driving simulator. All community members, families and race participants are invited to enjoy the free event. Local food trucks Poppy’s Roadside Diner, Lynette’s Country BBQ and Simply Fit will offer food for purchase. Local classic rock cover band Off the Grid will provide live music. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
